Brandon Marshall Agrees To Two-Year Deal With The Giants
Even despite a down season in 2016, Marshall is just one season removed from his incredible 2015 campaign in which he caught 109 passes for 1,502 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
While the Giants and Marshall have agreed to a deal, the actual deal can’t be signed until the start of the new league year. Marshall should be a great thing for him, as Marshall can probably relate a bit to him.
“I’m exhausted of watching the playoffs on my couch”, Marshall said in January after the Jets finished 5-11 and failed to make the postseason for a sixth straight season”.
Brandon Marshall will continue his great career in NY, after all.
Marshall, who turns 33 on March 23, has never been to the playoffs in his 11 National Football League seasons and had widely been expected to hook up with a team he considered to be a postseason contender.
Additionally, reports emerged Wednesday morning that the Giants were working to restructure the contract of Dwayne Harris. Marshall bet his Porsche’ against Brown’s Rolls Royce, the victor would be the receiver with the most receiving yards.
More importantly, Marshall will get to continue his pursuit of his first playoff appearance. Previous to his stint with the Jets, he played with the Chicago Bears (2012-2014), the Miami Dolphins (2010-2011) and the Denver Broncos (2006-2009). He was also New York’s primary kick and punt returner. Marshall has had over 1,000 receiving yards in all but three seasons throughout his career.
The Cowboys rolled to a surprising NFC East title last season by building their offense around a dominant run game.
Next up for the Giants will be repairing their porous offensive line and establishing some balance via the run game.
