Breazeale expected to give Joshua better fight than Martin
IBF champ Joshua was visited at his gym by the Hollywood A-listers during the final preparations for the fight, which takes place on Saturday night.
“Everybody keeps comparing me to Charles Martin, but the only thing that we have in common is that we’re both American”.
It is that brutal destruction of his opponents which has made Joshua the overwhelming favourite with bookmakers for tomorrow’s bout, the fulcrum of Sky Sports’ pay-per-view boxing platform and the fifth most marketable athlete in the world, according to SportsPro magazine.
Those planning to watch Anthony Joshua fight American Dominic Breazeale tomorrow night are advised to get their toilet break in well before of the opening bell.
In the middle of a spout of British drizzle, Breazeale joked that he definitely “Didn’t bring the weather.’ Adding ‘If it was up to me it would be 75/80 degrees”.
“I’m 16 fights, 16 wins, Dominic is 17 fights, 17 wins”, Joshua said. He sees the fight as a toss-up, and I agree with Mr.
“I practise things in sparring because there’s no pressure, but in the ring I just wait for that one chance to punish someone”.
‘Training’s been tough. I’m really exhausted. Two, it breaks down his form because Joshua fights best when he’s able to fight in a mechanical manner and get everything he can on his shots using ideal form. It’s time to get them out. If I do see an opportunity, I have to take it.
“He can land those shots on me 10 times, and I am not going down”. If you are always giving to people and then when you are down and you want something back and you don’t get it, then it will throw you off.
Breazeale is talking a good fight and I believe in his sincerity because he is a confident fighter, a man that passed from boy to beast as a praised and lauded quarterback. “That’s when you’ll see the greatest from myself”.
Breazeale, 30, has not forgotten, and to him, the experience has acted as a “confidence booster”.
Amid his unquestionable promise he remains relatively raw, but he is determined to evolve instead of becoming the one-dimensional fighter so many with his power would. “It’s laws of attraction, whatever you put out into the universe is what it receives, it’s just kind of putting your thoughts out into the universe”, he said. “It might be your lion’s den, but there’s a new lion just waiting to feed on you”. “You condition yourself, you harden yourself to become the best person [you can]”.
“I need to start now”. For starters, Breazeale will be walking into the lion’s den for this fight. I’m not a trash talker because the fists do the talking. From 16 fights on, I want to progress. I don’t want him at any given point for him to feel like he’s in his comfort zone, his own backyard or his own little lion’s den. From the road work to the strength conditioning to the sparring, getting in there with experienced guys when I was young, eating right and sleeping right.
