Breeders’ Cup festivities continue in Lexington

After the October 31 race at Keeneland, the Breeders’ Cup will move to Santa Anita Park in 2016 and Del Mar in San Diego in 2017. In addition, he will draw the positions for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, for 3-year-olds and up.

Monday afternoon, University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball Coach John Calipari will draw positions for two races at the Rood & Riddle Breeders’ Cup Post-Position draw.

The first 11 events, listed below, will be drawn at 1 p.m., then the Breeders’ Cup Classic and Distaff will be drawn beginning at 6:15 p.m.

War Envoy had a guaranteed start in the Mile but tackles the Dirt Mile instead, enabling Moore to partner Time Test, who was pushed out to 9-2 (from 7-2) after the draw, for Roger Charlton.

Found drew nine in the Turf, on a day when many of Ryan Moore’s other Breeders’ Cup rides picked up the worst possible post position. Triple Crown champion American Pharoah is expected to arrive via Tex Sutton flight on Tuesday.
