Bride-to-be, sister stabbed while in town celebrating bachelorette weekend
Arraignment is set Tuesday morning for a Louisville man charged in the weekend stabbings of two Cincinnati women in town with a bridal party.
The bride-to-be and her sister were severely injured by the stabbing, both suffering collapsed lungs – but they were able to escape the assailant and call for help.
Sherrie and Melissa Snader were in Louisville last weekend celebrating Sherrie’s upcoming wedding.
One of the victims identified Cummings as her attacker. Melissa and Sherrie Snader are now being treated at a local hospital.
Kalief A. Cummings, 45, was arrested at 7 a.m. Monday, August 24 by Louisville Metro police. “Then Melissa tried to intervene and he stabbed her too”.
Police identified Cummings using a description from the two victims, as well as surveillance video of the area from a city MetroWatch camera.
Their father, Richard Snader, says Fort Knox soldiers helped the women, applying pressure to the wounds and performing CPR. They wouldn’t hurt anybody.
It’s not the first bachelorette party to end in bloodshed. The wedding may have to be rescheduled. As for whether 27-year-old Sherrie’s wedding will take place on Saturday as planned, her father yesterday said it’s unclear.
Would you cancel your special day if you were stabbed like Sherrie Snader five days before?
