‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ Hitting Theaters in September 2016
Bridget Jones is getting ready to return to theaters after a 12-year hiatus.
Sharon Maguire who directed “Bridget Jones’s Diary” is back to helm the upcoming movie.
Following on from the sequel to the hit romantic comedies, the latest installment follows Bridget as a new mother, and the rather dashing Patrick Dempsey and Colin Firth have signed up to the project to share in the drama. In keeping with the times, Renée Zellweger’s character will be keeping note of her life on an iPad, not the diary that made her famous.
Zellweger, 46, was once again sporting a fake baby bump as Bridget, and as the scene progressed, it looked like she either collapsed or went into labor with Firth, 55, as Darcy by her side. Tom and Shazzer are Bridget’s best friends in the movie.
Based on Helen Fielding’s bestselling novel series, the second film “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” in 2003 left Jones happily married with Darcy.
Bridget Jones’s Baby is set to be released in 2016. “I really like it here!”
TheWrap reports that the new film is being produced by Working Title. Still, the series has been enormously popular with the first two pictures making more than $500 million combined worldwide, and it remains one of Zellweger’s most popular roles, having landed her the first of her three Oscar nominations.
There was no official plot details released for the film yet but according to the story line posted on global Movie Database, the 2016 film will be about the “The continuing adventures of British publishing executive Bridget Jones as she enters her 40s”.
