Bristol Palin slams White House invite for Ahmed Mohamed
Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin drew attention online Saturday after comments she made regarding a teen who brought a homemade clock to school. He said he wasn’t bothered that the cops didn’t apologise to him. “The future belongs to people like Ahmed”, said Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg.
“Now invited to White House, crowdfunded, etc”. He also told reporters during his multi-city grassroots tour that teens like Mohamed should be celebrated for their creative minds, not ridiculed. That teacher in turn went to the principal’s office and they called the police.
Earlier, he had made this clock himself and brought it show it to his teacher, when another of his teacher spotted it and through it was a bomb. After analysis, it was proven that Ahmed’s clock was indeed just a homemade clock. This situation has really saddened and scared me as a mother of a Muslim high school student.
But this isn’t the first time that someone at MIT has spoken up in support of the Muslim kid at the center of the “clock” controversy in Texas. “It’s clear to me that no matter what we did, there would be those who agreed with it and those who wouldn’t”. Want to bring it to the White House? When he said that his daughters helped him evolve on the issue of gay marriage, Bristol Palin mocked them. Also, the Irving City Council endorsed one of several bills in the state Legislature to forbid judges from rulings based on “foreign laws”.
The boy’s family says he will enrol at another school. Despite a nationwide backlash, school authorities have defended the decision to remove Ahmed from class. “There’s no evidence to support the perception he intended to create alarm”, Boyd said when he announced that Mohamed would not face charges.
Instead, Jindal felt the need to add the following statement: “I’m glad police are careful”, he said.
In an official comment, Irving Police Spokesman stated, “We attempted to question the juvenile about what it was and he would simply only tell us that it was a clock”.
He has since said he intends to leave the school. “But because his name is Mohamed and because of September 11, I think my son got mistreated”.
