Britain’s Labour to campaign to stay in European Union – Corbyn ally says
But the Labour party office says it will not reveal what questions Mr Corbyn intends to ask before we hear them.
He was praised for setting the scene for an unusually civil debate and for engaging the public, with more than 40,000 responses to his request for questions.
The spectacle was far from the cut and thrust of previous Cameron grillings by Corbyn’s predecessor Ed Miliband, and the cheers and jeers from opposing sides of the House of Commons were less audible than before.
Radical left-winger Jeremy Corbyn on Wednesday engaged with David Cameron for the first time at parliament’s weekly question time, after his refusal to sing “God Save the Queen” drew ire from Britain’s right-wing press. The only thing the austerity-light wing of the party had to offer for months was scare tactics and blame game, which is why it’s not surprising that Mr Corbyn won with an even larger mandate than Tony Blair did in 1994.
He accused the Conservative leader of having a “London obsession”, adding: “I don’t take orders from London as he does”. Many in the trade union movement have also been inspired by Corbyn’s commitment to fight against the Tory Trade Union Bill that is not only anti-worker but anti-democratic.
He also proposes more interaction from backbench MPs and has been in touch with the speakers’ office and asked for a discussion with John Bercow about the possible changes. Corbyn is already facing difficulties within his Party, many of whom would not have the confidence to campaign under the Corbyn banner in the run-up to the next general election and coupled with idealistic and improbable policies, it will be an unmitigated disaster. Here’s hoping they get their tiger soon.
“We won’t be able to afford a strong NHS without a strong economy”. This will not be an easy battle but nothing worth fighting for in this life ever comes without much struggle.
Labour has denied that the incident was caused by a Labour aide, instead telling Financial Times chief political correspondent Jim Pickard that it was an employee of the Government vehicle service who knocked the cameraman over.
Thus, Corbyn’s opponents might not be scared of his electoral chances, but they might want to re-estimate his impact on current political discourse, which has been ruled by right-wingers for decades.
It’s about making a British society that works and is beneficial to each one of us.
The TUC adoration will carry a price in terms of condemnation in some quarters but it will focus the minds of a Labour Parliamentary group that must decide whether to put up or shut up on their new leader.
