British Airways to start 787-9 flights to San Jose, California
British Airways will launch a direct B787-9 Dreamliner service between London Heathrow and San Jose, California next summer.
The airline will offer daily service beginning in May next year on the Boeing 787-900 “Dreamliner”, which airport officials described as one of the “most technologically advanced” passenger airplanes on the market.

With the brand new route, British Airways goals to offer Silicon Valley’s enterprise and know-how communities “extra choices” to succeed in the UK and Europe for each work-related and leisure journey. “With connections beyond London to over 130 destinations around the world, we’re delighted that we can bring the world just a bit closer”.
Aimed at Silicon Valley, the domain of the gleaming offices of software giants from Apple to Adobe, Google, eBay and Intel, as well as thousands of tech start-ups, the daily flights will be the only service between Europe and San Jose.
British Airways also says it plans to upgrade the seat width on existing 787-8 aircraft in the future. This marks the first regularly scheduled nonstop service to the United Kingdom for the city of San José.
