British driver Justin Wilson in coma after accident during IndyCar race
Wilson is now in a coma and in critical condition while undergoing further evaluation at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa. Karam, who was the race leader at the time, had lost control in Turn 1, and the debris scattered. Justin was airlifted by helicopter from the track, according to ESPN. Safety workers immediately arrived and frantically worked to extricate Wilson from the No. 25 Andretti Autosport Honda.
We are likely to see. “Hopefully, he’s OK”. The IndyCar championship will be held August. 30 in Sonoma, California.
He said: “Praying for my bro right now”.
“On this instance, who would have ever thought a nose would come off and hit somebody?” He was the last fatality in a form of racing that saw drivers Scott Brayton (1996), Tony Renna (2003) and Paul Dana (2006), among others, die after wrecks.
Following the accident involving Karam and Wilson, a lengthy caution period ensued and the race did not restart until lap 194 with rookie Gabby Chaves leading Takuma Sato and Juan Pablo Montoya. He joined RuSPORT for his second season in 2005, and won races at Toronto and Mexico City.
Wilson was airlifted to hospital after the accident late in the race.
Obviously Stefan would have found his way to the hospital without Stewart, but it goes without saying that the personal plane and pilots got him there a lot faster. “My spotter didn’t even know what to say”.

Wilson, a 37-year-old veteran from Sheffield, England, was making his 174th IndyCar race.
The Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing man said he was keeping hope of reeling in Montoya in one week’s time, but conceded the retirement was not ideal.
Ryan-Hunter Reay, an Andretti teammate of Wilson’s, was the eventual race victor.
Wilson broke a bone in his back at Mid-Ohio in 2011. The race was the CART season finale on October. 31, 1999. Montoya said his immediate thought was to avoid the wreckage.
Justin’s wife, Julia, rushed to his side from their home in Colorado. But again, you don’t know what the consequences will be. To me, it’s acceptable. “I’m not going to act like I have no fear”, Hunter-Reay said.
Wilson has driven in major US open-wheel racing since the 2004 season.
