British RAF jets carry out second airstrike
British lawmakers approved the bombing of Isis targets in Syria on Thursday, and four tornado jets carried out the first round of strikes just hours later.
Bombing started hours after MPs gave their approval for military action, using the oil fields, which are in eastern Syria.
“Last night saw the full force of the RAF”.
“It’s not what we do that they oppose, it’s what we are”. We are people who choose our government, accept a rule of law, tolerate other religions.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed a second round of strikes were launched against a Syrian oilfield by planes at British base RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.
He said the militant group was a new enemy that threatened the streets of Britain.
“These targets are very carefully selected to minimise any risk to civilians or collateral damage”, he said.
On Wednesday, the British parliament voted in favor of extending airstrikes against ISIL (Daesh in the Arab world) to Syria.
U.S. President Barack Obama discussed with British Prime Minister David Cameron, the fight against the Islamic State (IS) group, the White House has said.
British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said Saturday that the deployment of Typhoons and two further Tornados would double the number of British fighter jets taking the fight against Daesh, also known as the Islamic State (IS).
The jets used GPS- and laser-guided Paveway IV bombs to hit the wellheads, in an attempt to cut IS’s oil supply and its revenue from oil sales.
Two Tornado fighter bombers joined an existing eight earlier this week and six Typhoon fighters were also flown to the base, the statement said.

A second pair of GR4s patrolled the skies over western Iraq, where they provided close air support to Iraqi forces engaged in combat with ISIS in and around Ramadi.
