Britney Spears recreates video moments with James Corden on “Carpool Karaoke”
In the latest edition of James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke”, Britney Spears joined the “Late Late Show” host for a ride around Los Angeles, singing and chatting as he drove. “I don’t believe in marriage anymore”.
And, of course, there was one more signature Spears tune. “But, you know, who knows what the future brings”.
The sketch began with a sing-along of “Oops I Did it Again”, after which Corden asked the pop star what the lyrics really meant. “What’s that about? What’s it REALLY about?”
Ex-boyfriend, David Lucado seemed to agree about Britney’s passion for her children, telling The New York Times, “If anyone knew the real Britney, they would know that she would rather be remembered for being the great mother she is rather than the great artist she is”. “I think it’s just a song”. “Every time I’ve performed there it’s always been one of these nerve-racking experiences”, she added. “I did it again!'”
Between performing in Las Vegas full time and promoting her newest album, Glory, Britney Spears has been very busy over the past few months. Corden talked about his young children, ages five and two – before Britney talked about her own. “I was like, ‘I just want to hug you right now'”.
“You’re saying you don’t want to be with anyone, ever, the rest of your life?”
“I still get very nervous”, she said ahead of her performance.
“Oh, my God, and he kept playing them”, she told the radio show hosts.
“What it’s like for them if you’re wearing a racy outfit?” he posed.
“I’ve never been spanked – properly, for either pain or pleasure”, Corden said.
As for touring? Spears said it’s not completely out of the question. That brand of bondage is passe.
But Corden wasn’t buying it. Yeah, I totally went along with it.
