“Broad City” tears into Columbus Day
Abbi and Ilana, the world class stoners from Comedy Central’s Broad City, are done with Columbus Day. Whether you’re enjoying your day out of the office or bitterly reading this at your cubicle, the two ladies from Broad City totally feel you.
While amusing, the video does give the history-minded viewer the opportunity to ponder the wisdom of a national holiday devoted to a man who, in Ilana’s words, “raped and pillaged his way through America”. In the Broad City web exclusive below, rather than taking off work, Glazer wants to go into her office just to disrespect Columbus’ ghost.
She promises Abbi she’ll print her things as well, in order to really stick it to Columbus. Columbus Day marks the anniversary of the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492.
Eventually, the girls offer a solution: They’ll use the day “to celebrate the real hero Christopher Columbus, who directed Home Alone”.
Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, otherwise known as the hilarious duo behind the hit Comedy Central series “Broad City” was finally back with another webisode for their online series “Hack into Broad City”.
