Broncos, Brock Osweiler beat Patriots 30-24 in OT

Unfortunately for the team another player, Rob Gronkowski, was injured on Sunday when he hurt his knee in the 4th quarter.

“I am thankful that it is nothing serious”, Gronkowski said. “I think a lot of time, the contact is initiated, and the question is who’s initiating it? You’ve got to play really well, and when that game ends, you’ve got to, as fast as you can, turn the page and move on”. He said their goal is getting Peyton Manning healthy again and back on the field. “I’ve always been a team player, try to be a good teammate, whether it’s answering any questions that Brock may have or (quarterbacks coach) Greg Knapp may have”.

“There’s no timetable for that”.

“It is. But while I’m out, I’m trying to do whatever I can to help”. I appreciate all the support. Reports have Manning out for multiple games and he could be ready to come back in Week 15, but no official date has been set for Manning to return.

Gronkowski was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 30-24 overtime loss to the Broncos. If he comes out the next few weeks and throws three picks a game, piling up the losses, the Broncos won’t blindly charge ahead. “His status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis and listed accordingly on the practice participation and injury reports”, the Patriots said in the statement.

“No decision has been made on our QB situation beyond this week, contrary to speculation”, the team tweeted Wednesday following a report based on anonymous sources that Peyton Manning wouldn’t return to the starting lineup even when healthy.

Of course, there have been issues regarding Gronkowski’s injuries over the years and no doubt the Patriots were trying to head that off.

Gronkowski broke his forearm November 18, 2012 and tore his ACL on December 8, 2013. And that’s something quarterback Tom Brady hasn’t anxious about in a while.

Manning has missed their past two games which still resulted in wins over the Chicago Bears in Week 11 and the New England Patriots in Week 12. Basically, he’s doing a great job with his opportunity, but the thing that Brock is doing the best, in my opinion, is understanding that he’s on a good football team. “Our fingers are crossed”, Brady said. “To go out there and do it every Sunday is no surprise to us”.

Anderson had his best game in a while for the Broncos after putting up 113 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots and he could be the better start option for fantasy owners in Week 13.
