Broncos have found way to delay Osweiler-Peyton debate
“No decision has been made on our QB situation beyond this week, contrary to speculation”, the team tweeted Wednesday following a report based on anonymous sources that Peyton Manning wouldn’t return to the starting lineup even when healthy. Since he took over, the Broncos have posted their two best running totals of the entire season with 170 rushing yards against the Bears and 179 against the Patriots.
Prior to his injury, Gronkowski had six catches for 88 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady with 11:24 left in the first quarter. Anderson for a game-winning 48-yard touchdown.
“They certainly come at big times in the game and they affected a couple drives the other night”, McDaniels said. “He had our game plan with him”.
The athletic quarterback’s ability to run bootlegs and play action has opened up Gary Kubiak’s zone-based offense, which had been modified for Manning. “We have to play within the rules”. Most of the time you’ve got to play to the end and hope that you play with concentration, that you play with all the energy and focus, all the way until the game ends.
“I think it’s kind of like being a little bit pregnant”.
Manning didn’t make the trip to Chicago for Osweiler’s first career start a week earlier so that he could continue getting treatment.
Peyton Manning had the cast removed from his injured foot Wednesday, and is now wearing a walking boot hoping get healthy soon.
“He could have been on the field”. Everybody says, ‘Is it better, is it better?’ The answer is I don’t know because I’m not putting any pressure on it. It’s sort of immobilized. “We settled on basically we have a nice, comfortable, warm spot for you here in the locker room”.
Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler will reportedly start for the remainder of the 2015 season, according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report.
And that means he’s not thinking about the status of the quarterback position and whether he or Brock Osweiler will play if he can fully recover from the foot injury. “I was like, ‘Whoa!’ You know, he’s got a huge frame and they’re going to attack it, but he’s a tough kid, he’s going to get up and he’s going to do what’s best for the team”. “None of us did”.
That’s the point: there’s no drop-off with Osweiler. “And he’s learned that. I’m trying to be patient doing that, and we’ll see how it reacts to the rehab after that”.
9News had to know: Once Manning gets back healthy, and with Osweiler playing so well, would Manning be willing to accept a backup role?
