Broncos healthy for AFC championship against Pats
As the Denver Broncos aim to become American Football Conference (AFC) Champions this Sunday, cornerback Chris Harris Jr.is optimistic that he can help the team, with his shoulder injury healing. “I think he’s making great progress, so we’ll see”.
Asked about the early-week barbs tweeted between some Denver players and Gronkowski about low tackles on his knees, Talib said, “I’ve not seen it. That’s why I stay off the social network”.
Of the 13 ESPN “experts” forecasting Sunday’s title-game winners, only two – Seth Wickersham and (naturally) Bronco Ring-of-Famer Tom Jackson – are siding with the Broncos. Everybody on our list is probable.
For the second week in a row, Denver had all 53 players on the active roster participate in the team’s final practice before their game.
“I’m light years better than I was last week”, Harris said.
“I’m feeling more comfortable putting hands on [players] and holding them and having them break away from me, ” he said. “As long as there are no setbacks I should be good to go”. He played in 47 of a possible 63 defensive snaps, which was his lowest total snap count for the season.
Asked if, somehow, there is a way to enjoy the week leading up to the game, Manning said: “I think you have to”. “Hopefully, there is some improvement there this week, just physically. But I don’t look at it that way, and the fact is that we’ve been able to work together so well”. He’s a good guy – exactly how he is on commercials is how he is in real life.
With Julian Edelman out on November 29, the Patriots had Danny Amendola, Keshawn Martin and Brandon LaFell, with Harris in coverage on LaFell much of the night. If he is on the field, the Patriots could test Harris from the start – either by running at him or challenging him off the line of scrimmage – in order to gauge where he’s at in terms of his comfort level with the injury.
