Broncos LB Von Miller named MVP
“He just ain’t faced nobody, man”, Harris said.
Denver linebacker Von Miller was named Super Bowl MVP, nabbing five solo tackles, two forced fumbles and 2.5 sacks on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
Ealy’s three sacks tied the Super Bowl record shared by Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXI and Darnell Dockett of the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII.
Cam Newton’s go-to guy came and went in Super Bowl 50. They scored ten points in the first ten minutes of the game. “He won a Super Bowl – it’s the best way to go out”. “It’s been a unique season”, the oldest QB to ever win a Super Bowl said. “I understand the emotions of losing, but you can’t do that”.
The Panthers quarterback’s favorite receiver through most of the season, tight end Greg Olsen, had one of his least effective games of the season at just the wrong time.
But the Broncos picked on him like a practice squad scrub, sacking him six times and hitting him several more.
“We’ve talked about getting to the mountain peak and obviously we’re at the top of the mountain but we’re not at the peak”, Rivera said. Look who they played, man. They haven’t faced anybody like us with our team speed, with our team athleticism, our soundness, our grit.
Malik Jackson recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and Jordan Norwood set up another Denver score with the longest punt return in Super Bowl history and the Broncos took a 13-7 halftime lead over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
The Falcons and Texans really aren’t intriguing matchups so I don’t see the National Football League going that way. We need the ball.
Newton finished the game completing 18 of 41 passes for 265 yards and one interception. That’s how I got through it all. “Coach Kubiak says all the time, ‘Life is 90 percent fair”.
He won the title this season playing the role of game manager.
Instead, it ended with Miller popping the ball out of Newton’s hand for the second time to help the Broncos seal it on C.J. Anderson’s touchdown run with 3:08 to play. Again, we weren’t able to mix it up and have success.
What followed was an odd exchange where Newton declined to answer several questions in a two-minute session that was in some ways reminiscent of Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch’s press silence a year ago.
And despite all of those missed opportunities, the Panthers still had a chance to win the game – thanks to their defense – after stopping the Broncos on four straight drives spanning the third and fourth quarters.
