Broncos, Patriots had highest rated AFC championship game in 29 years

DENVER (AP) – No, you’re not seeing things.
For many New England fans, the game hinged on a pivotal moment in the opening half when the Patriots took advantage of a Denver turnover to score a touchdown and were an extra point away from tying the game at 7-7.
When the 39-year-old Manning takes to the field in San Francisco for Super Bowl 50 on February 7, he will surpass current Broncos general manager John Elway as the oldest quarterback to lead a team in the NFL’s championship game. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning could retire after the Super Bowl regardless of the result. The Broncos (14-4) are set for their eighth title game.
Carolina’s secondary is led by Josh Norman while the Broncos have Aqib Talib.
“After going through the game this morning, I feel pretty much the same as I did last night”.

On Sunday, the Patriots still had a shot at the win following Roby’s interception of Brady’s 2-point attempt. They lost their final two regular-season games to lose out on the No. 1 overall seed, which may or may not have impacted their chances of reaching the Super Bowl.
“At the end, we just couldn’t make enough plays”, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. Some thought his career might be over after that game. “To me this victory is a great example of what this season has been like”, Manning said.
