Broncos Rumors: Brock Osweiler Starter Against Patriots, Peyton Manning Out
Ponder started 36 games with the Vikings across four seasons, but failed to live up to expectations, throwing 38 touchdown passes and 36 interceptions while completing under 60% of his passes.
Head coach Gary Kubiak announced that 2012 second-rounder Brock Osweiler would start last week in place for an injured Peyton Manning, but that Manning would regain the starting job once he was fully healthy.
Tuesday, Kubiak stood behind his ailing quarterback. “I just want him to get healthy and do whatever he can to do that”.
Osweiler was asked if it was ever frustrating not being able to get into games even with big leads, something that has happened to Garoppolo on many occasions. Without Manning available, Brock Osweiler will be set to start against Tom Brady, according to Bleacher Report. They’ve got the stretch runs and the cut backs and the zone schemes. “And right now it is Brock”.

Kubiak has consistently called Manning’s recovery a “day-to-day, week-to-week” affair.
5b. The Bears had four pass interference penalties that cost them 114 yards in the first two weeks of the season – including two by Kyle Fuller (34 and 42 yards) and one by Alan Ball (38 yards).
“Just so you know, [Brady’s] not close to finished”. Given that Manning may continue to ride the pine, the question arises: Have we seen the last Brady-Manning NFL face off?
“We expect him to be unavailable for at least a couple of games. We made it tough on him, too”. The reason that it’s unlikely that Manning will be back before Week 15 is because of all the rehab he has to go through.
“When you have games like this – [Tom] Brady knows everything about us, Belichick knows everything about us”, Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said. “I was comfortable. I really was, from the very first snap”.
Kubiak had already said Osweiler was his starter this week when the Broncos (8-2) host the unbeaten Patriots (10-0). “I visit with this guy on a regular basis and we talk all the time”, Kubiak told NBC Sports. Although the injury needs to be taken care off, it will only limit Manning’s practice time. A team in which Manning controls the offense to his liking and enjoys say in personnel may be more attractive for the National Football League leader in career passing yards. “He’s been remarkable every part of his career; he’s been a tremendous player”.
