Browns could be down to rookie QB Kessler at Miami
Update: Browns head coach Hue Jackson officially ruled McCown out Sunday, and said that Kessler is has a good chance to start against the Dolphins.
The Browns placed Griffin on injured reserve Monday after he suffered a fractured bone in his left shoulder in Cleveland’s season-opening 29-10 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I don’t think you really learn about players until you really play them in these real games, so we’ll find out a lot about him this weekend”. He left the locker room bare-chested, his T-shirt in his right hand.
“I know it’s in the shoulder/clavicle area”, Jackson said. Trust me. Here we come. This week, he will not be a backup when the Browns visit the Miami Dolphins.
“I have nothing to prove”, he said.
“My mindset is that everything will be all right and we will move ahead, business as usual”, McCown said. “We’ll see what that statement was all about”.
“Obviously, Cody has to be the guy, but we’re also going to keep searching around and making sure that we cross every T and dot every I and see if there’s somebody else out there that can help our football team”, Jackson said”.
In his second game back after undergoing knee surgery that ended his 2015 season, Flacco again showed why he’s one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks and one of the game’s most unflappable leaders. McCown quickly returned before Kessler could even attempt a pass, and held-in for the remainder of the game despite multiple jarring hits. Just over 10 minutes after kickoff, the Browns (0-2) got an 85-yard TD run by Isaiah Crowell and were up by 20, stunning not only Baltimore but more than 60,000 Cleveland fans who came expecting more of the same from the home team. He led the Browns to a 20-0 lead with two touchdown passes, but the Ravens rattled off 25 straight points to knock off their AFC North rival. “For me it’s been just the process, getting the process down and continue to grow each week, continue to learn”. He said his “plan” is to play next week against Miami, but the Browns may have to turn to rookie Cody Kessler.

McCown threw for 260 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. We have to fight like heck to get it back our way.
This misfortune also happened to Atlanta in 1986 and 1987 when the Falcons started Turk Schonert, David Archer, Scott Campbell, Erik Kramer and Jeff Van Raaphorst in consecutive games.
The Ravens took a 22-20 lead when Tucker buried a 49-yard field goal with 11:19 to play in the fourth quarter.
