Browns’ quarterback Josh McCown out for rest of season

The Browns have placed quarterback Josh McCown on injured reserve with a broken collarbone, and Cleveland’s season doesn’t look to get any easier, as they face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

The 36-year-old McCown, who sustained a concussion on the Browns’ opening drive this season and missed two games with badly injured ribs, kept playing against the Ravens despite taking a hard hit in the second half.

Pettine said this week’s decision had more to do with Davis’ performance at the end of Monday’s loss to the Ravens than it did Manziel’s recent demotion behind him. “He was prepared, played well and put us in position to win”, Mike Pettine said in a statement.

But as Cleveland attempted to get closer for Coons, Davis wasted valuable time because of a communication issue with the sideline and the QB couldn’t get out of bounds after a scramble, forcing the Browns to call a timeout.

“Given where we are, it’s safe to say now this is a weekly decision”.

After one of the most heartbreaking losses in franchise history, more bad news came from the Cleveland Browns today.

McCown went 1-7 as a starter but made quite an impression in his first season in Cleveland.
