Browns safety Poyer still in hospital with lacerated kidney
The Browns should just stay home and take an early offseason. The Browns essentially forced Mariota to beat them and he did just that. Mariota’s game comes on the heels of a strong effort in the win against Miami in Week 5, where he threw three touchdown passes and ran for another in the Titans 31-17 win. It polished off a 12-play, 80-yard drive that lasted almost seven minutes. He did not throw an interception. Through six weeks, Pryor ranks tenth in cathes, 16th in receiving yards, and eighth in total targets.
When the Browns did not convert, they needed two possessions to win instead of one to tie. The Browns then settled for Parkey’s 37-yard field goal and a 7-6 deficit with 2:08 left in the opening quarter.
There was frightening news for the Browns in the first half, though. The Titans responded with a 70-yard drive that ended in a DeMarco Murray touchdown run from the three-yard line, putting the score at 21-13.
The Browns trailed 28-13 when Kessler hit Terrelle Pryor Sr. for a 5-yard TD with 2:07 left, but his pass on the 2-point conversion failed. Although it isn’t yet possible to say he can be a long-term answer at quarterback, it is evident that he will do everything he can to give himself the chance to be a long-term answer. This simply is not true.
Jackson must at least reconsider deferring when his team wins a coin toss before a game.
His latest performance saw him finish Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with 336 yards and two touchdowns, putting the team in a position for a comeback victory. “It’s more so not for myself but the guys around you”.
The Browns recovered an onside kick and scored again with 30 seconds left.
Still, Jackson was effusive in his praise of the 23-year-old, who became emotional following Sunday’s loss when reflecting on his younger brother recently being hospitalized, as well as the death of his great-grandmother. In the end, Cleveland lost by a score of 28-26.
The next onside kick attempt from Cody Parkey bounced out of bounds, and the game was effectively over. As usually happens, this loss consisted of several pieces that, put together, added up to not good enough. However, there’s just something about playing the worst team in the National Football League that seems to let players shine their brightest. In spite of the hits, Kessler just kept making plays. “There are some third down things we can do better and need to do better, but I think he’s growing week by week, moment by moment, play by play”. He has missed 13 of the last 22 games with injury.
2016 hasn’t proven to be that year in any way for these Browns but it has given them some hope that they have finally found a cornerstone to build around. Wins were always going to be rare this season. That’s kind of how I look at it, sometimes it’s not always the right way but that’s the kind of mindset you have to have is that nobody can stop you and you’re going to do your best to make a play for your teammates.
“Whenever my number is called”, Wright said, “I’ve got to be ready to make a play”. Shelton had five tackles and a sack against the Titans. Duke Johnson didn’t fare much better.
