Browns stunned on final play, lose 33-27 to Ravens
Too easy, and too cruel.
A Justin Tucker 49-yard field goal extended Baltimore’s lead to 10-0, and it looked like the Ravens may have been on the verge of taking control of this game in the first quarter.
Last night, the Ravens beat the Browns 33-27 in an unbelievable final play. McCown has given the Browns everything he has, but at this point the team should really just shut him down for the rest of the season before he leaves a body part on the field.
In Cleveland it can always get worse.
One fan took to Instagram just before the game was lost.
The Browns rallied from a 14-point deficit to take a third-quarter lead but couldn’t hold it as the defense continued to give up big plays and couldn’t get off the field when it needed a stop.
McCown injured his collarbone in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Austin Davis, whose 42-yard TD pass to Travis Benjamin tied it with 1:47 remaining. Davis completed seven of 10 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. “I heard somebody saying up top that he (offensive coordinator John DeFilippo) was cutting out”.
The Browns collected themselves nicely after losing to San Diego on a field goal as time expired and rebounded with an overtime victory over the Ravens.
Because of poor communication and because Davis had hardly practiced with the starters since his arrival, the Browns let 26 seconds run off the clock.
“Well, it felt good to play”, Davis said. That meant adjusting the play. They had 2 timeouts and plenty of time. “When you have a great opportunity in front of you, it is important that you demonstrate that you can handle the responsibility that comes with it”, Pettine said. “We’ll continue to fight and be the best Raven team we can be”.
Did that final play go Cleveland’s way? This is what life is all about, I need more of it…Let’s get the f*** outta here. Defensive end Brent Urban blocked the kick, and Hill, the undrafted free agent who once did time with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena League, had the answer to end the game. He would be the Browns spirit if it weren’t for the next gentleman in the video, wearing what appears to be a Barkevious Mingo jersey.
Placekicker Travis Coons said he hit the ball well, that it was just like every other kick. The Browns picked off a pass with a minute to go at mid-field.
