Browns vs. Ravens: Point Spread, Total & Prediction
The Patriots (4-0) weren’t the same offensive juggernaut as their first three games, but New England did more than enough coming off a bye week to wear down the undermanned Cowboys. Crowell broke multiple tackles en route to a critical 22-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter and Barnidge hauled in several clutch catches. A Browns team that had been built on what was supposed to be a strong rushing attack and a defense advertised as one of the top units in all of the National Football League had once again disappeared with a game on the line. It largely shut down the Browns for the first half, allowing just nine points on three field goals.
Overtime belonged to the Browns after a wild fourth quarter. Last season, McCown threw for 341 yards against Trestman’s Bears but he lost a fumble and threw an interception. The big play on the second scoring drive was a 48-yard sideline bomb to Kamar Aiken, who’s starting because the Ravens are running low on pass catchers.
The Patriots went into the locker room up 13-3 on Brady’s rushing touchdown and two field goals by kicker Stephen Gostkowski, including a 57-yarder at the end of the first half.
The Browns took a 30-27 lead when Isaiah Crowell took a short dump-off from Josh McCown and turned it into magic.
Start “em?: The dearth of weapons in the Batlimore offense makes Joe Flacco a mid-to-low QB2 with a low, low floor….” On the ground, Justin Forsett rushed for 150 yards in 27 attempts while Javorius Allen added 19 yards in five carries. Michael Campanaro is also expected to miss Week 5 with his own back injury, meaning the Ravens had to trade for Chris Givens last weekend.
The ball glanced off Burnidge’s left leg and rolled down to his left ankle as he pinned his legs together to control it. While on his back, he reached down and secured the ball for an 18-yard touchdown. He notched the club’s second-longest run of the game, a 10-yard scamper for a touchdown late in the third quarter. Perhaps the Browns need to do this more often. That year, they opened the season with a 20-3 victory over Baltimore. The defense watched Derek Carr and the Raiders march down the field for a game-winning touchdown in a 37-33 loss. Coons drilled the kick, giving the Browns their second win of the season and first over an AFC opponent!
Before that game, Trestman and McCown gave each other a hug.
McCown rallied the Browns from an early 14-3 deficit. His 457 yards is the second most passing yards in a game by a Browns quarterback, just behind Bernie Kosar’s 483 yards in 1987. His two throwing scores went to tight end Tyler Eifert, who caught 8 passes in the game for 90 yards. Down three with 2:17 left in regulation, Dalton led the Bengals offense on a 7 play, 69 yard drive that culminated with a 31 yard game-tying field goal by Nugent as the fourth quarter clock expired.
