Bruce Springsteen Dances In The Dark With 89-Year-Old Grandma
The singer, known as The Boss, confirmed he would play at the venue for the first time ever on Friday, May 27th.
Bruce Springsteen brought an 89-year-old woman, only known as Evelyn, on stage during a tour stop in Toronto on Tuesday night.
With the concert well into its third hour, Springsteen noticed a family holding up a neon sign, asking if he would dance with their matriarch to mark her big day.
The current fixture has the Wexford v Kildare (senior football) and Dublin v Wexford (senior hurling) matches scheduled for May 29.
Speaking to Pat Kenny on Newstalk, Peter McKenna – the Stadium and Commercial Director of Croke Park – said that a provision had been made for a second gig to take place on Sunday, May 29th if the first one proved popular.
Tickets for this summer’s concert, which is part of Springsteen’s The River Tour, will go on sale on Thursday, February 11th from 9am.
They are priced at €65.45, €116 or €131 for seating and €98.50 for standing tickets.
In turn, Croke Park feeds substantial amounts of money into central funds for distribution to counties and other units of the GAA.
