Bruce Springsteen to play Croker in May
Bruce Springsteen has annnounced a show at Dublin’s Croke Park in May.
The games were due to be played on Sunday 29 May, but have been moved to Saturday 21 May.
The only issue is that the Leinster Championship quarter-finals are set for that very day with Wexford v Kildare (senior football) and Dublin v Wexford (senior hurling) pencilled into the calendar since last November.
Although one concert has been announced, Springsteen will be expected to play at least once more at GAA Headquarters that weekend, meaning the chances of the May 29th games taking place in Croke Park are nearly non-existent. However, this year has been confirmed by the promoter.
Tickets for this summer’s concert, which is part of Springsteen’s The River Tour, will go on sale on Thursday, February 11th from 9am.
In 2014 five sold-out Croke Park shows were cancelled by United States country singer Garth Brooks, after Dublin City Council gave permission for only three.
Although tickets prices haven’t been officially confirmed, an insider revealed seated tickets should range from €65.45 to €131 with a €98.50 price for standing (both subject to service charge).
