A goal in the final minute of regulation from Ryan Spooner sent Thursday’s game into overtime and the Bruins beat the Rangers 4-3 in a shootout. We don’t have a lot of that, but do skill and speed trump that moving forward? So as long as, same with March [Brad Marchand], what we’ve talked about in the past, you want to keep it within the rules, and in an area where it doesn’t affect your team.
After the game he admitted his decision making and timing were a bit off, but that’s understandable given the situation. He stayed out of trouble. The injury occurred in the first period, and Chara did not return after leaving the ice. He drew the ire of the Rangers’ Tanner Glass after Rinaldo buried Tommy Hughes, and Glass jumped Rinaldo at 13:53 of the third, taking a roughing penalty. “That’s what I’ve been told”. That’s just my game and I did.
“I don’t have a definite answer for you”, the coach said. “I just raised my hands in the air and waited for the guys”. “I’m loving it, the more the merrier”. He said it was nice to be back on the ice and promised his game would improve. “He did a phenomenal job running around and getting the fans into it, and he’s known for that”. Tyler Randall scored 7 minutes into the first deflecting Joe Morrows shot past Lundqvist.
Even though it was only a preseason game, Zuccarello proved Thursday he’s 100 percent ready for the upcoming season.
“Well he’s going to give you that any time he gets a chance”.
Brady Skjei, Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes scored for New York.
The Bruins announced Friday that they have signed defenseman Brandon Carlo to his entry-level contract.
“[The Rangers] had a lot of guys in their lineup and they were playing pretty quick”. I see him, he’s got some good versatility.
Chara played three shifts and logged 1:57 of ice time before going down with the injury, which he suffered after being checked into the boards by Rangers forward Ryan Bourque.
Coach Claude Julien did not have an update. Julien believes both Vatrano and his linemate last night, Austin Czarnik, can be an National Hockey League players some day…. “We’ll have a nice, fun game tonight”.
The New York Rangers were defeated 4-3 by the Boston Bruins after the game was decided in a shootout.
Earlier, the B’s cut their camp roster by 10 players. Unsigned players Max Iafrate, Andrew Cherniwchan, Max Everson, Matt Ginn, Eric Neiley and Frankie Simonelli have also been released to Providence, which begins on Sunday. Zach Senyshyn and Jeremy Lauzon have been returned to their junior teams, while Colby Cave and Colton Hargrove have been assigned to AHL Providence.
