Bruno Mars finally confirm he’s performing at the Super Bowl
“We wanted to bring that sort of vibe to the Super Bowl halftime show”, Coldplay drummer Will Champion said at a news conference Thursday.
Thankfully, it won’t be just them. For some, Coldplay’s first mainstream single, “Yellow”, remains their best. Someone like Adele has a lovely voice of course, but it might get lost in the echo of the stadium and she’s not exactly a stage-filling performer.
He said: “My daughter said the sweetest thing yesterday”.
McCarthy announced 40 Super Bowl MVPs will be introduced to the crowd on the field in a special pre-game moment. – McCarthy, again, gushing about the pregame festivities. – Pepsi Chief Marketing Officer Seth Kaufman dropping all kinds of corporate buzz speak. “I feel like Donald Trump”, the Coldplay frontman quipped.
“Chris can I have a hug?” “Just to be clear, that’s the Denver Panthers that we definitely are rooting for, Okay?” – Yet another perky Entertainment Tonight clones.
Lead vocalist Chris Martin said, “We don’t do press conferences that often so please forgive us if we aren’t that good”.
“It’s actually Kelci from the Insider”. Add in a Destiny’s Child reunion and a little controversy about Queen Bey lip-synching the national anthem at President Obama’s inauguration ceremony and there was no doubt this was going to be huge.
A Super Bowl halftime show can be a daunting task for even the most accomplished musicians. As everybody who’s ever looked at a list of best-selling books can tell you, there’s no better gauge of quality than popular taste. – Martin, mocking the photographers kneeling on the floor in front of the stage.
Viewers were bemused by one of the two shark-outfitted backing dancers who appeared to freestyle the choreographed routine.
The incident still leaves such a legacy that Martin was also asked what the band’s “left shark” moment from their much anticipated performance will be, reports NME. “It’s a hard question to answer”.
Justin Timberlake and Rihanna have also been rumored to make an appearance at the halftime show, but has yet to be confirmed.
In all, Coldplay’s entire set, with Beyoncé and Mars included, will only be 12 minutes long so it’ll be very interesting to see how everyone shares the time, especially since they all have so many big hits. It seems like a lot of fuss over nothing. “While there are some tickets left on the primary market for select shows, many are already sold out”.
