Bruno Mars finally confirms Super Bowl performance
Of course today, the Super Bowl halftime show has evolved into a big budget production with pyrotechnics and big name stars, but original band members, like Tom Neil, will tell you just as much preparation went into that first show on January 15, 1967.
“Uptown funk” hitmaker Bruno Mars has confirmed that he will be joining the rock band Coldplay and singer Beyonce Knowles on stage during their performance at the Super Bowl 50 halftime on Sunday. “She’s one of our all-time favourites, and she’s one of the greatest performers I’ve ever witnessed”.
According to Us magazine, Apple – who is the daughter of Chris and his ex Gwyneth Paltrow – was happy to advise him when he admitted he was “nervous” about the upcoming show on Sunday.
“I don’t think it would be quite right”, Chris said. “What else is on that day?”
The band, which includes Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion, said they spoke at length with one another about what their performance should represent.
“We decided we wanted to make it about togetherness, acceptance and the things we believe in. We can’t compete in terms of wonderful dance routines and all that, so we have to try and do what comes naturally to us, which is to try and provide a little fun and great atmosphere for people to come together”.
GossipCop also reported that “Seal and Sam Hunt have been tapped to perform at the Super Bowl 50 NFL Tailgate Party, which will air shortly before the game”.
Coldplay are the headliners of Super Bowl 50 2016 and previously announced Beyonce as a special guest.
A second posted: “Say what you want about Coldplay doing the Super Bowl, they’re an wonderful live act and I have absolutely no doubts that they’ll smash it”.
