Bryan Cranston wants to play Trump
On The Today Show, Bryan Cranston reminded everyone of his considerable acting skills by impersonating Donald Trump.
“I’d like to play Donald Trump at some point”, he said.
The 60-year-old actor then offered a preemptive audition of sorts with a spot-on impression of the presumptive GOP nominee, complete with finger pointing and pursed lips. He’s huge!” And when the host expressed his surprise at the choice, Cranston explained saying, “He’s this Shakespearean character, this serio-tragic-comedic character. “Who wouldn’t wanna take a bite out of that?”
Even better than saying he’d like to play Trump, though, Cranston put his talent where his mouth is and dropped an AH-Mazing little impression of the politician live on TV!! The actor has recently portrayed USA president Lyndon Baines Johnson and screenwriter Dalton Trumbo in an Oscar-nominated turn.
“It’s yuuuge!” Cranston began, riffing on the way Trump famously pronounces the word “huge”. “You are immersed in their genius – Jerry and Larry [David] – and the rest of the cast were brilliant”.
What do U think – would Cranston make a good Trump?!
Bryan Cranston’s new film, The Infiltrator, will be released on July 13, 2016. He will also appear as Zordon in the upcoming Power Rangers movie.
