Violating the ceasefire once again, Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing in Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Senior Vice President Sharma further said that the Indian government must strongly convey to Pakistan that the ceasefire violations, sponsoring terrorism and talks can’t go together and the Pakistan government must create conducive atmosphere for a meaningful dialogue with India.
A similar kind of situation occured earlier on June 22, Pakistani Rangers violated the ceasefire and fired at two Indian posts along the worldwide border in RS Pura sector of Jammu district.
“Any attempt by the Pakistan Rangers to provide cover fire to the terrorists waiting on their side to sneak in will be thwarted by our alert security forces”, said that police official. They are targeting Indian positions along the LoC and the worldwide border. “They fired 25 to 30 rounds at BSF posts”, he said, adding that BSF troops guarding the borderline with Pakistan took position and retaliated. The Sonapindi Post was first targeted on Sunday night for around 20 minutes.
Officials said that apart from these incident, along the LoC in Kashmir Valley there have been three incidents of “unprovoked” firing by the Pakistan Rangers along the IB in Jammu region in violation of the November 2003 ceasefire agreement during the past 12 hours. In the overnight firing and bombarding, which targeted 6 Border Security Force (BSF) outposts, a BSF jawan was killed in the north situated Kupwara district, Kashmir.
The firing, which started yesterday evening, continued through the night and as per reports, is still on. Reports also said that there has been no loss of life or damage to the properties in the firing exchanges on either side.
