Bubba Watson shaping as favourite at Travelers Championship
Expect very low scores here this week at River Highlands; as the winning score here over the last five years is an average of 15.4 strokes under par. It’s still a demanding golf hole, but now the beauty of it now shines even more. I play under jasonwedge and have my familiar “Amateur” sketch of the Leprechaun as my profile photo.
Bubba Watson (world ranking: 6) – Watson loves this tournament so much he chose to play even though it meant missing the start of the Olympics. “I feel like I can do some work here if my wedges are on and certainly if I’m putting decent”.
Watson defeated Englishman Paul Casey in a dramatic playoff a year ago.
“When I opened up that box, I was just like, ‘Oh my God, this thing is incredible”. As always if any of these picks help your lineups this week let me know in the comments section below or on Twitter @Hunta512.

Yes he is. The Olympics format will be played under the same format Kuchar competes in most weeks on the PGA Tour.
Starting with his current form, ZJ has been T17 or better in four of his last five starts, a run ended with a respectable enough T33 at Baltusrol last week (71-66-71-69). He also played some good golf at TPC Louisiana (T8) and Harbour Town (T14) earlier this year although stringing four good rounds together since then has been a problem. Molder also made the top 20 in 2009 and opened with a 66 past year before fading. Rahm has had three Top 10’s, including a second and third, over a mere six events this year, and DeChambeau placed in the Top 25 at both the Masters and U.S. Open while almost grabbing a victory at the RBC Heritage in April, where he tied for fourth.
It’s unclear if this revelation will sway Kuchar’s decision to play in the games. The Illini lost to eventual champion OR in the national match-play semifinals this spring.
Aaron Baddeley: (6,900) Baddeley is coming into The Travelers in great form and fits this course like a glove.
FAST START: Bryson DeChambeau tied for fourth in his professional debut at Hilton Head in April, and it appeared he would be a lock to go straight from college to the PGA Tour and earning a full card.
Lasts weeks selection Gary Woodland was more of a ghost than a leprechaun. The victor of that tournament, Jimmy Walker, isn’t playing this week. Since committing to the PGA tour he has made himself comfortable in the USA and it would come as no surprise to those of us who follow the Italian golfer if he were to win a tournament at some point.
In the last 5 times back to the Travelers, the Trump retweeter has logged 4 top-20 finishes and nearly won here in 2013. This season on the Tour Toms is 11/15 in made cuts with four top 25s, one top ten, and a second place finish. Reed was 14th last week and has missed the cut in Hartford the past two years.
