Buckeyes deal with dysfunction after loss
Urban Meyer couldn’t argue with the message that his star running back delivered, but the Ohio State coach wasn’t happy with the setting where Ezekiel Elliott delivered it. Elliott apologized to Meyer for criticizing the coaching staff and won’t face discipline as the Buckeyes prepare for a huge test Saturday at MI. “My intentions were not to point fingers at anyone but OUR failure”.
In fact, Meyer said he agreed with Elliott.
The greatest rivalry in all of sports will continue this weekend, when the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes travel to That State Up North to take on the No. 10 MI Wolverines.
Be Civil – It’s OK to have a difference in opinion but there’s no need to be a jerk.
I have better things to do than debate which rivalry is a bigger deal, but it just goes to show where we are, and it’s Michigan’s fault.
Coach Mark Dantonio’s program has played in three of the six most-watched games of the season, in addition to being at the site of ESPN’s College Football GameDay three times this season. MI has been favored just one time in the previous 10 games between the Buckeyes and the Wolverines.
“It was even better than Christmas when I was growing up here in Ann Arbor”, Harbaugh said on the Big Ten coaches teleconference on Tuesday.
“Zeke has always been an extremely loyal person, a great competitor”, Meyer said. I’m not a fan of taking a RB in the top 5, but if the Titans win a couple of games and move down, or are able to trade back, Elliott is a guy that will be in play.
On Monday, Elliott issued an apology via his Twitter account for his critical remarks of the Ohio State’s choice of plays during Saturday’s game.
“I think he said what a lot of people were scared to say”, Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa told reporters Monday.
“I lay there and look at the ceiling with a thousand things going through my mind, ” he said.
After the game, head basketball coach Tom Izzo said that he wished he would have gone into the stands and kissed the junior kicker. OSU used a strong passing game to beat MI State last season.
“Some of the teams kind of make you play basketball (on grass) a little bit and want to spread it out”, Perry said.
“(In) hindsight, feed him”, Meyer said. We were gashing them, We didn’t see those plays called the rest of the game. “My four years here, to say our class did its part to win four games, that would be huge. If we can’t handle a loss and get better from it, what are we doing?” The Buckeyes were ranked third in the playoff rankings before a 17-14 loss to MI State. I think for us, obviously we’re just coming out of some of the challenges that we’ve been through, that have had an effect, there’s no doubt about it, but it takes some time. “They weren’t We weren’t put in the right situation to win this game”. Meanwhile, MI could force a three-way tie for the Big Ten East Division title and secure a trip to Indianapolis for the title game with a win and a MI State loss.
