Bucks 108, Cavaliers 105 (2OT)
Just like when they met the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first time on November 4, things looked good until the fourth quarter.
James said the Cavaliers were playing well, but needed to improve to be great despite the 8-2 start. As does Kevin Love, who finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds, but scored just a single point in the fourth quarter and the two overtimes. LeBron James continued to carry the Cavaliers with his third 31-point effort in the last four games, and the five-time MVP has averaged 14.5 points in the fourth quarter over the past two contests.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 17 points and 19 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs extended their win streak to four with a 92-83 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, who have now lost all 10 this season and 20 in a row dating back to last season.
It’s never going to be easy to beat LeBron, but for the second straight game the Knicks had him right where they wanted him and they couldn’t seal the deal.
This James wants a second Finals appearance to be the end result of a respecting of the long, arduous 82-game regular season, and not something the Cavs take for granted. Point guard Michael Carter-Williams led the Bucks with 17 points while Antetokounmpo and center Greg Monroe added 16 each and forward Jabari Parker finished with 12.
“We expected they would probably relax a little but, so we had made a decision to push it, and we didn’t get that chance, unfortunately”, Cleveland coach David Blatt said.
James and Williams did damage at the free-throw line. After a hot first half, Anthony fell into a cold spell in the second half, missing his first nine shots.
“We’re not a great team right now”.
Cavaliers small forward LeBron James took over the offense down the stretch, as he hit a layup in traffic to make it a two-point game, and then, drew the team even with a driving layup with two minutes left to play.
The Cavaliers won 90-84 over the Knicks after getting 31 points from James and he helped the team come back from a 10-point deficit in the second half. NY whittled away an early nine-point Cleveland lead, moving ahead 36-35 on a 3-pointer from Anthony with 6:33 left in the second.
The Knicks outscored Cleveland 23-11 over the final seven minutes of the first half to go in front 53-46.
HOUSTON – Raymond Felton scored 23 points and Charlie Villanueva added 19 as Dallas handed Houston its third straight loss.
After the Knicks made 7 of their first 15 3-pointers, Porzingis opened the second half with a corner three. They travel to Milwaukee on Saturday and to Detroit on November 17…. Centre ZaZa Pachulia led the Mavs with 18 points and 15 rebounds and guard Deron Williams tallied 13 points and seven assists in the win. Porzingis entered Friday fourth among rookies in scoring and second in rebounds. Jared Sullinger had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who outrebounded the Hawks 50-35 (see full recap).
