Bucks fans predict team ending Golden State’s Winning Streak
The loss was the Warriors first in 28 games, as they won their last four regular season games last season.
The Milwaukee Bucks have defeated the Golden State Warriors 108-95 in easily the biggest upset of the season. And if the Warriors’ track record of dominance at home is any indication, they’ll likely come out locked in and ready to go when the Bucks hit the hardwood in the Bay Area.
“We didn’t have it tonight”, interim coach Luke Walton said. Even if you are 24-1, losing still sucks.
Stephen Curry scored 38 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists and the Warriors improved to 24-0 this season by outlasting the Boston Celtics, 124-119, Friday night.
STEPH Curry finally ran out of magic, and his Golden State Warriors ran out of gas as they suffered their first loss of the 2015-2016 National Basketball Association season on Sunday afternoon (AEDT). Warriors C Andrew Bogut spent seven seasons with the Bucks. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Bogut averaged 12.7 points and 9.3 rebounds in 591 games for the Bucks….
“He’s our modern-day (Michael) Jordan, in the sense that when we were growing up, we all wanted to be like Mike”, Kidd said.
Center Greg Monroe led the Bucks with 28 points while guard OJ Mayo chipped in 18 and forward Giannis Antetokounmpo added 11 as part of an impressive triple-double.
Monroe turned Green into a puddle, and the Bucks were able to milk clock and still end most of their possessions with efficient looks. Milwaukee has a history of snapping long winning streaks. That broke a tie with the 2012-13 Miami Heat for the second-longest winning streak in league history, and now trails only the 33 straight by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1971-72.
The Warriors will look to start a new streak next Wednesday against the Suns at home.
Draymond Green had 24 points and 11 rebounds.
“It’s disappointing because I thought we beat ourselves, especially on my end”, Thompson said.
Still, the Warriors made things easier for their opponent than they normally do. Walton, when asked if there a sense of relief that the winning streak had ended.
“Now we can focus on what we need to focus on”. Golden State is still a great team and nobody would be surprised if they won 34 in a row and finished 73-9.
And the Warriors did it despite Curry’s worst-shooting night of the year. “And so, for us, we didn’t talk about the streak. It was a lot of fun, and we plan on continuing to win a lot of ball games”.
According to GSWStats, Saturday’s halftime deficit was the second-largest of the season for the Warriors, trailing only their November 19 win over the Los Angeles Clippers. “It’s been kind of a playoff feel to this, with the streak and all the media and attention around”.
