Bucks halt Warriors’ streak
Milwaukee has held seven of its last nine opponents under 100 points, including becoming the first team this season to prevent Golden State from reaching triple digits.
The Bucks are 10-15 and still looking up at most of the Eastern Conference but the victory Saturday showed they are capable of much more.
“It just feels like a loss, a feeling that we haven’t experienced in a while”, Draymond Green said after the game. Can you really win all 24 games you play to start the reason?
Many predicted that the Warriors would fall to the Indiana Pacers last Tuesday night, others thought the Boston Celtics would have a shot a few days later. The Warriors set the record by starting the season 24-0.
“I told the guys postgame, now we can have a regular season”, Green said. “But 24-1, going home, hopefully we handle business and get back to playing our best basketball, and winning games in the process”.
What Bosh meant was the St. Louis Maroons, a baseball team that started 20-0 in 1884 for what was the best start to a season in the four major U.S.pro sports until now.
Take heart, Golden State nation. Monroe was 11 of 16, including a three-point play with 2:51 left for a 12-point lead. “We have to treat every team from now on like the Golden State Warriors”. Although the Warriors had not lost a regular-season game since April 7, the result was not surprising. The Cavaliers are making some headlines with their inconsistent play, but there would be a whole lot more criticism for Cleveland if it were not for the Warriors historic start that we are all privileged to witness. The way the math works out, leaving Andre Igoudala and Harrison Barnes get a corner three is sort of your best bet unless you have one of the two or so big men in the game who can approximate an okay job singling up Curry.
Hopefully this is the win that inspires the Bucks to play better.
“To me, they [the Bucks] looked like they wanted it a little more tonight”. Analysts say they have a realistic chance of equaling the “95-’96 Bulls” record of 72 wins in a season. Smith he wanted another crack at the Warriors in the Finals, but his motivation in rooting for them this weekend had nothing to do with actually wishing good tidings upon the Warriors and everything to do with sweetening the pot for the Cavs’ Christmas Day showdown with them in Oakland, California. One quarter of the season gone, these Warriors reminded themselves in the locker room, and a championship journey to go.
“You can kind of appreciate what we were able to accomplish”, Curry said. So the Warriors’ streak displaced Miami’s mark as the second-longest winning streak overall, but it remains third behind the Heat’s run when you compare in-season winning streaks. A raucous Bucks cheering section proved prophetic after wearing green “24-1” shirts to the game.
