Bucks sign former Badger, Marcus Landry
A graduate of Vincent High School in Milwaukee and and a staple on the Wisconsin Badgers’ squad from 2005-2009, Landry is Wisconsin born and bred.
Marcus Landry is expected to sign with the Bucks, according to Gery Woelfel of the Racine-Journal Times.
Landry is now among nine fellow players listed as forwards on the Bucks’ roster, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, and newly signed free agents Greg Monroe and Chris Copeland.
Marcus Landry now has the opportunity to play for his hometown team.
The signing signifies Landry’s return to the states after spending two consecutive seasons in Spain. His last stop in the National Basketball Association was with the Celtics and Knicks during the 2009-10 season in which he played just 18 total games.
In 2013-14, he averaged 12.4 points a game for Cajasol Sevilla and last season averaged 10.4 points a game for CAI Zaragoza.
Landry is the brother of 76ers forward Carl Landry. Unable to earn a spot with the club, Landry spent the entirety of the 2010-11 season with the Reno Bighorns of the D-League.
Apart from Spain, Landry had foreign stints in Puerto Rico, China and Venezuela. He was on the Futures All-Star team for the 2013 NBADL All-Star game and won the Three-Point Shootout.
