Bucks Sign former Badger Marcus Landry
Landry was reportedly in Milwaukee on Monday morning working out for the Bucks and he is expected to sign a deal by the end of the day.
Landry’s contract is not guaranteed, but it gives him the opportunity to demonstrate his skill and compete for a roster spot during training camp. 29-year-old Landry is a former University of Wisconsin player and a Milwaukee native.
Landry, 29, played at Milwaukee Vincent high school before completing four years of college basketball at Wisconsin.
The odds of Landry sticking around once the regular season hits aren’t in his favor. After brief stints with the Knicks and Celtics, as well as a stay in the D-League, Landry has spent the last two seasons overseas.
Landry played in 49 games for Spanish team CAI Zaragoza during the 2014-15 season, averaging 10 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He also donned Boston Celtics’ colors. He was on the Futures All-Star team for the 2013 NBADL All-Star game and won the Three-Point Shootout.
The Bucks will spend the first five days of training camp in Madison at Landry’s alma mater beginning on September 29.
