Buffalo Bill’s house goes on sale for $300000
The house, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the site where the fictional psychopath kept his victims, bred insects and made a suit out of human skin. Now, the infamous home where Buffalo Bill had placed the Senator’s daughter in the well, where the moths were, is now up for sale.
Aside from the home, there are other memorabilia from the 1990 Best Picture winning movie set in the house. But don’t worry because there’s no spooky basement with a serial killer lurking in it – those scenes were filmed on stage.
What’s so special about the four bedroom, one bath, 1910 Princess Anne Victorian style home? They were married in the foyer in 1976 and have since raised a family there.
In reality, the couple that owns the house, Scott and Barbara Lloyd, said in an interview with TribLive.com that they were simply exhausted of caring for the spacious home, whose porch, foyer, and dining room can be seen in the flick.
The old place featured prominently in the 1991 classic as Jodie Foster’s Federal Bureau of Investigation Agent Clarice Starling character prowls around the property following a tip-off from incarcerated cannibal Hannibal Lecter that killer Jame Gumb (aka Buffalo Bill) lives there.
Mrs. Lloyd recalls, “They were looking for a home in which you entered the front door and had a straight line through”.
There is also the book where the movie was based where director Jonathan Demme and actress Jodie Foster signed.
“People love to be scared”, she added.
Um….not me. Nothing fun can be done with Buffalo Bill’s house.
