Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Tyrod Taylor throws three interceptions in 2016 Pro Bowl
There is no tweak that will incentivize the Pro Bowl participants to actually put forth full effort into the game, so that shouldn’t be a goal.
Team Irvin made it a three-touchdown game on a 51-yard scoring pass from Winston to Tennessee tight end Delanie Walker.
In assessing the 49-27 final score, the one word that best encapsulates the outcome would be turnovers.
Sherman at one point lined up as a receiver and took a reverse, then with nowhere to go, cut back and returned to the side of the field where he had started – if much further behind the line – eventually tackled for a 22-yard loss by Wagner (the game is no longer played with a conference format, with players instead split into teams captained by former National Football League stars Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice).
The 2016 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, January 31, 2016 and televised live on ESPN from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. Peterson rushed four times for five years but caught three passes for 20 yards.
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford took home the offensive MVP a year ago, throwing for 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Winston later hooked up with Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins for his second touchdown pass of his Pro Bowl debut.
In the second quarter, Hilton was initially credited with a 51-yard touchdown catch from Derek Carr, but it was overturned on review. Ultimately, the game’s leading receiver was Team Irvin’s Allen Robinson.
Buffalo’s Taylor got into the scoring column with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Miami’s Jarvis Landry. Kansas City’s Andy Reid led Team Rice. It certainly was fun watching some Seahawks go up against each other, but I would rather watch the team play together.
Griffen, who was the first Viking added to the Pro Bowl roster, will be entering the third year of a five-year, $42.5 million contract he signed in 2014. While it was hard to dispute the safeties that were initially named to the squad, anyone who saw Smith play over the last couple seasons could easily attest that he is a Pro Bowl-quality player. Bridgewater also threw Team Irvin’s lone interception of the evening when he was intercepted by rookie Marcus Peters in the first quarter. The risk for injury in a meaningless game is too high and the rules that are restricted against defenses not being allowed to blitz pointless.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie of the New York Giants had two of Team Irvin’s six interceptions. He opened the game and was 8-for-12 passing for 164 yards and three touchdowns.
The game was the last in the Hall of Fame career of Oakland Raiders defensive back Charles Woodson, who announced his retirement late previous year after 18 seasons.
