Bugatti Chiron name confirmed for Veyron successor
Bugatti has finally announced the successor to the Veyron sports vehicle – the Bugatti Chiron.
The cars name comes from Louis Chiron, a grand prix racer in the 1920s and 1930s which drove for Bugatti and won the 1931 French Grand Prix with a Bugatti T51 and also has a number of other wins for the company.
“The development brief for the Chiron can be summarized in one sentence and is probably the shortest in the history of the automobile: we want to make the best significantly better”.
An exclusive vehicle made just for the video game, this incredible new baby blue Gran Turismo is supposed to be extremely similar to final production Chirons, to give you an idea of what Afrojack will be cramming himself into soon. One of the first people to pre-order the vehicle, famed EDM DJ/producer – who doesn’t think he’s “EDM” – Afrojack, is in for one helluva whip.
The upcoming Bugatti Chiron’s price tag is expected to be somewhere around $2.5 million. It’s the end of the road for the Bugatti Veyron, the company is shelving this auto, but it’s bringing out something that’s going to be equally desirable if not more. 0-60 miles per hour is targeted at two seconds flat and Bugatti engineers are chasing a top speed of over 270 miles per hour.
As a refresher, from what we know, the new Bugatti Chiron will get a heavily reworked version of Bugatti’s 8.0L quad-turbo W16 mill, though with electric turbochargers in place of the traditional exhaust-driven snails.
To see the production ready model of the Bugatti Chiron, vehicle enthusiasts will have to wait for the 2016 Genera Motor Show where the sports auto will be showcased.
