Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept: The Future Of Bugatti Looks Terrifyingly
If you’re lucky enough to be in Frankfurt, the vehicle will be on display at Bugatti’s stand from the 17th to 27th of September.
Just as with the exterior, no comprises were made when it came to the design of the vehicle’s interior.
The Vision Gran Turismo was developed in co-operation with Polyphony Digital Inc, the creator of the Gran Turismo video game franchise. The real-life version is fully drivable but wasn’t created to comply with government safety regulations – only racing regulations.
Bugatti might market its products to the world’s richest individuals, but the brand has been surprisingly open to the idea of its products appearing in the egalitarian medium of videogames.
Though there is no mention of horsepower, Bugatti has slotted in its venerable W16 engine in the middle of the GT, so we assume a HP figure mirroring the Veyron’s is on offer.
Outside, the most obvious design carried over from the Veyron is the signature Bugatti horseshoe grille and the wide radiator intakes that flank it. Narrow, beady eyed headlights give the Bugatti an extra-sinister attitude.
“The sounds from the air blower’s turbine that spins at around 200,000 rpm, the unique frequency of fuel cell stacks, the purging sound from the hydrogen cooling system and the high-pitched in-wheel motor harmoniously combine to produce a distinct race auto rumble, further thrilling the driver”, Hyundai says. Based in France at the time, Bugatti won at LeMans in 1937 and ’39.
Furthermore, an ultimate concept vehicle showing the brand’s perspective on future performance characteristics will be introduced during the Motor Show. The Veyron is unquestionably an icon, a star in a galaxy of supercars with its prodigious engineering and its unbelievable performance.
Before World War II, Bugatti was one of the most successful manufacturers of sports and racing cars, with the brand being resurrected first by an Italian entrepreneur in 1987 and by Volkswagen in 1998.
As expected, Gran Turismo will feature advanced technology that will most likely be inspired by the concept in the virtual reality game.
