Built-In Battery Makes Acer Aspire AIO Portable
“With Windows 10, we can now deliver a unique and consistent experience across our comprehensive product portfolio, be it notebooks, desktops, tablets or smartphones”, said Jason Chen, Acer’s corporate president and chief executive officer. Both these devices are powered by the latest Windows 10 OS out of the box.
Acer’s new Aspire Z3-700 all-in-one PC bucks the trend with personal computers by actually running on a battery.
The new Aspire R 14 convertible notebook comes with diamond-cut edge design and a thinner 360-degree dual torque hinge offers flexibility between four usage modes.
Acer also unveiled the Aspire Z3-700 (below) on Monday, an all-in-one device that’s the first from the company to run Windows 10.
Like other OEM partners, Acer wanted to demonstrate its Windows 10 notebook lineup in action and announced two devices. The Laptop mode utilizes the keyboard for more efficient input, while the Display mode does away with the keyboard by rotating it by 180 degrees. While Microsoft and Apple have both revealed new 13-inch devices, Acer has taken things a step further and shown off a 17.3-inch monster tablet with two built-in kickstands. Acer has incorporated MU-MIMO technology to enhance download speeds at home and even on the go.
It also has up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB SSD or up to 500GB hard drive, and Pentium N3700 or Celeron N3150 Braswell CPU. The Z3-700 is slim – only 15.6mm – and relatively light – 2kg (about 4 1/2 pounds), and comes in several different configurations. It has a full HD (1920 x 1080) 10-point capacitive multi-touch screen, which also supports a stylus. The R 14 has a brushed metallic finish and is 0.72 inches thick, while weighing about 3.96 pounds. Acer is retailing the Aspire R14 for $699 in North America and will make it available later this month.
The Aspire R14 weighs 1.9 kilograms, and is equipped with a 6th-generation Intel Core processor, up to 8GB of DDR3L system memory, as well as SSD storage capabilities.
Acer isn’t providing any information on USA pricing or availability, but we do know that it will ship to EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) before the close of 2015 for €599, or roughly $680.
