Urman, a hairstylist at the Purple Rain Salon, is also the CEO and Founder at Pet ResQ Inc.
Responding Officer Joseph Grieco popped the lock on the black Mercedes truck and saved the day.
“She was a little out of it, a little drunken”, said Urman.
Authorities said the animal appeared to be otherwise OK. The owner returned 12 minutes after the police showed up and was warned about animal cruelty, according to NBC. Police said the 50-year-old woman who owns the dog was cited or issued a summons at the scene, but the case is being referred to the Bergen County SPCA. Temperatures Tuesday afternoon were in the 80s in Tenafly.
The dog’s owner said she stopped briefly at a nearby store, according to police.
DeMoncada said residents should call their local police departments if they see an animal locked in a hot vehicle.
