Bulls upend Spurs 92-89
The Spurs had their opportunities on Monday night, but couldn’t make them count, finishing 1 of 7 in the last four minutes of a close game, and falling to the Chicago Bulls, 92-89 at United Center. Parker’s try was partially blocked by Derrick Rose, who finished with 11 points and six assists. Bulls power forward Nikola Mirotić scored a season-high 25 points and shooting guards Kirk Hinrich, E’Twaun Moor got their team moving, but were quickly outplay by the Pacers.
Reggie Jackson had 31 points and eight assists, and the Detroit Pistons built a 28-point first-half lead before holding off the Houston Rockets 116-105 at The Palace. This game will be tough as the Bulls are 5-1 at home.
BUCKS 92, NUGGETS 74: Greg Monroe scored 18 points and Milwaukee forced 24 turnovers that led to 35 points in a victory over Denver, sending the Nuggets to their seventh consecutive loss, in Milwaukee. Teague added five assists as Atlanta ended Oklahoma City’s four-game winning streak.
ATLANTA – Jeff Teague scored 25 points, six of them during a 10-2 fourth-quarter run, to help Atlanta outlast Oklahoma City. The Spurs regained the lead later in the third, but Butler was determined as he got a big steal and slam dunk to get the Bulls closer at 67-64.
Hornets: Charlotte says stalwart center Al Jefferson will miss approximately two to three weeks with a strained left calf.
Jefferson underwent an MRI on Monday. The 30-year-old Jefferson has led Charlotte in rebounding five times and has four double-doubles.
San Antonio Spurs have placed themselves alongside with defending champions Golden Warriors as the two teams with the most wins during the present regular season with a total of eighteen and fourteen victories respectively. Dunleavy, who has missed all 15 of the Bulls’ games, recently had a setback in his recovery from offseason back surgery.
