Bundy attends tense community meeting
The standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in OR took a tense turn Tuesday evening when attendees at a community meeting held at the Burns High School gymnasium unleashed remarks aimed at the federal government and public officials – as well as highly personal ones against Ammon Bundy.

“Ammon, you need to go home to your family; thank you”, said local resident Jennifer Williams.
“There were a few dissenters, by far not the majority”, Bundy said.
Federal, state and local law enforcement officers have been sent to the remote area but so far have avoided doing anything that might provoke a confrontation.
He said police have arrested two men affiliated with the group and included a new report that Duane Kirkland of Hamilton, Montana, was stopped and arrested Thursday on a felon in possession of a firearm charge.
“We will not tolerate it when they come into our community driving stolen vehicles”, Ward said. “I mean they’re literally stealing from the public when they go in and take down fences and they destroy habitat and they break into buildings”.
They disagree with Bundy’s demand that the refuge – a popular place for birdwatchers and hunters – be turned over to local residents.
