Bungie hopes Destiny Rise of Iron expansion will be enough for players
In other words, all future development and releases would be exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
Fans expecting new subclasses to be introduced in the new “Destiny” expansion “Rise of Iron” will be disappointed, as Bungie announced that there will be no additional subclasses added to the game.
Destiny: Rise of Iron expansion is still a bit of a mystery right now.
For those on current gen consoles, it is the beginning of a brand-new adventure, chock-full with new missions, weapons, gear, and a raid. Encrypted Legacy Engrams will also continue to be sold, and will decrypt into Year 1 Exotics.
Destiny players that want to upgrade from a Legacy Console to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will need to perform the Account Import as part of the upgrade process. Bungie is stressing the current game will remain playable on the older consoles, but all future development will occur on current generation hardware.

In a new blog post, Bungie reveals that it’s really not going to be ideal to be stuck behind, as in August, the company will be splitting the paths between your characters on both platforms.
Bungie has recently released new details on Destiny and how it will interact with the older consoles, and what gamers can do to transition.
First, the new social space on Felwinter Peak will include some kind of rituals, even though we don’t have many clues about what these could possibly be. Characters and achievements can be transferred using PlayStation Network or Xbox Live, said Tech Times.
However, there will be a couple small changes to Destiny on legacy consoles.
