Burnley Must Remain Grounded Despite Good Start – Dyche
Unders, even a [1.7], has to be the call but I’m leaning much more towards backing Under 1.5 Goals at [3.0] as that gets a 1-0 win either way in the books as well as the goalless draw. It’s one of those unusual things.
Dyche introduced Ashley Barnes for Steven Defour at the break and the Clarets were marginally better, though never looked likely to make a game of it.
It was a flash in the pan at best for Burnley, as Tony Pulis was able to rest three key players with Phillips, Rondon and Morrison leaving the field to standing ovations.
West Brom has been led this year by Tottenham’s Nacer Chadli.
Rondon did get his goal in the 67th minute, though the finish didn’t exactly match the beauty of the build up. One save from the terrific Salomon Rondon was excellent.
In personal meetings between these two teams, the most wins on the left side West Brom.
DF Michael Keane, 4 – Keane was brought back down to earth with a bump after worldwide duty with England.
“He’s a good player and has upped his game from last season”.
“It’s a great result, to score four goals”, said Pulis. Like the bookmakers said, we were favourites to go down.
Both clubs went into the worldwide break with a win.
Confidence will be equally high in the Burnley camp after a dramatic last minute victor from Ashley Barnes secured a 3-2 win at home to Crystal Palace last time out. The Ireland global seemed unsure of his role but his pass completion was excellent, albeit mostly from very safe balls. The game was done at half-time.
Salomon Rondon got the goal his performance deserved in the second-half to complete the rout and Pulis could even afford the luxury of taking off the Venezuela global with 12 minutes remaining to give him extra rest ahead of the trip to Hull at the weekend.
Sean Dyche will be hoping his side can improve on their poor away record however, as results have been hard to come by away from Turf Moor (D1, L3).
