Burnout Paradise may be coming to Xbox One via backwards compatibility
Also interesting are the info about how the process of bringing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One works.
In case you’ve been on vacation for the last month, backwards compatibility is a new feature that Microsoft announced for the Xbox One during its E3 2015 press conference. Rev those engines for Burnout Paradise. The most requested games for backward compatibility are high profile titles that have not gotten current-gen remasters.
That is an absolute bargain for Dragon Age, as remember Inquisition won Game of the Year so you should definitely take advantage of this deal if you haven’t played it yet. Seven years on and the Burnout franchise hasn’t been heard of since, with Criterion moving on to the Need For Speed franchise. Regardless of the reason why Microsoft put these games on sale, fans will surely be quick to grab this rare opportunity to get a hold of their favorite Xbox games for a fraction of the original price. If previous Ultimate Game Sales are anything to go by, we expect there will be games added for this weekend at some point as well.
This is the issue with introducing backward compatibility this late in the game. It’s during that period of time that players are hesitant to buy a new system that may only have a handful of games. Playing older games on the new console will come at no extra cost to those playing. It remains to see if Sony will ever implement something similar.
While this week’s firmware will not feature significant UI changes, Xbox One users should look forward to the Xbox One backward compatibility and Windows 10 streaming as much as with the upcoming UI overhaul this coming fall.
