Bush condemns Trump claims about American Muslims celebrating after 9/11
Trump even fired back at the Washington Post which debunked his 9/11 claims, tweeting “I want an apology!” And on Monday his presidential opponent Ben Carson stepped into his own media kerfuffle when he claimed at a midday event that he also recalled seeing the footage of Americans celebrating only to walk that back later in the day and claim he was confused. “Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio lead among party insiders”, said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University poll, in a release announcing the results.
Q: Dr. Carson, were American Muslims in New Jersey cheering on 9/11 when the towers fell = did you hear about that or see that?
“But I do think it’s fair to say Donald Trump is on the verge of melting down the fact-checking sites with what he is saying”. Donald Trump will tell you what you believe, and only the pedants among us will dwell on the details.
His recent comments about Muslims cheering when the Twin Towers went down on 9/11 is no different.
Jones also criticized Trump supporter Jeffrey Lord, another participant in the segment, for defending the candidate regardless of the racist and derogatory things he says. “To celebrate this tragedy…it’s wrong”, Cohen said. “But I could never verify that report”. He’s been widely denounced for claiming that people in New Jersey — a state with “large Arab populations”, he said — cheered after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Still, Trump maintained that he had predicted that late Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden would try to attack the U.S. He said his forecast is written in his book titled “The America We Deserve”, which was published in 2000.
You ever notice how some folks on Twitter have a disclaimer as part of their bios that says “Retweets are not endorsements?” “I know many Muslims who were just as angry and saddened as we were”.
“I could have said: ‘Oh, I misspoke.’ I’m not big on that, am I?”
So is Donald Trump completely fabricating the story or did he actually see a news report on the matter? “I didn’t know that they had an agenda behind the question”. “I misspoke.” Could Stephanopoulos have spent the next five minutes making the same point about the police? The media lies, we all know that, so why wouldn’t they lie about this, too?
After asking if the man, whose real name is Terri Silliman, was married and if his wife was happy with her husband, Trump exclaimed “she fantasizes that he’s really the real Donald Trump”.
