Bush keeps pressure on Trump in New Hampshire
“Donald is upset that Jeb got the best of him on Tuesday night at the debate and has been the one person to stand-up to his un-American praise of Vladimir Putin”, Bush communications director Tim Miller said in response to Trump’s Twitter tirade.
Donald Trump is at it again. The idea that he’s actually running for president and insulting people is deeply discouraging, to be honest with you, and I think we should reject that out of hand. But as Bush engaged repeatedly with Trump in Tuesday’s debate, Kasich largely avoided taking on the real estate mogul.
Bush’s jab comes the same day that the super PAC supporting his White House bid, Right to Rise, released a new TV ad hitting Trump. Marco Rubio to carry the party’s establishment mantle.
The ad then pivots to Bush talking about his plan to defeat the Islamic State. He threw a deadly blow when he said: “The last thing our country needs is another BUSH! And I’m coming back the week after that and the week after that”. Bush is competing with Kasich, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Sen. “The reality is this: two-thirds of voters haven’t made a decision, they won’t make a decision until the final week, 25% of New Hampshire voters don’t make a decision until the final day”.
On Saturday, Bush packed his schedule with four town-hall-style meetings, meant to show his stamina and resolve.
Jeb Bush’s campaign manager Danny Diaz argued Thursday that the one-time front-runner is still poised to win the Republican nomination despite his low poll numbers because “conventional wisdom” has proven wrong throughout the primary.
And the former Florida governor appeared determined to keep his focus on Trump. He also said he was the only one to stand up to Trump’s “chaotic, irresponsible foreign policy at the debate”, while sharing links in his tweets.
“I mean, it’s like he has no clue”, he added.
